UPDATE 11/2/2015

Today our team continued testing the codes written for the robot. We found today that the sonar sensor did not work very well with the speed the robot was set to in our code. We modified the speed of the robot so the sonar sensor could find a proximity value with ease. This solved this problem. We also discussed doing away with the touch sensor all together. The concern is that if an object is not at the precise height of the touch sensor, the robot will plow into the obstacle. Furthermore, the sonar sensor can perform the touch sensor's task without the limitations the touch sensor has. There was some time spent modifying the robot to accommodate a sonar sensor that would sit in a motor. This motor would allow the sonar sensor to rotate, and in a sense scan its surroundings. We plan to use the scanning sonar to navigate around any shape obstacle placed in the way of the robot. We will use the sonar of the robot to keep a certain distance from the object while moving around its perimeter until the black line is again found by the robot. We plan to meet on Wednesday to further the progress of our robot.
